Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress Study Guide
The following study guide is designed for a unit of study on Dai Sijie's Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress, a coming of age tale following two boys in a re-education camp during the Chinese Cultural Revolution. The study guide is split into three parts, one for each section of the text, with a range of questions from Bloom's Taxonomy for each chapter. These questions are designed to challenge readers of all levels, with basic, concrete questions from struggling learners, and higher end, synthesis questions for students who excel. Along with chapter questions, there are markers for eight activities to be completed after reading three chapters of the story. These activities are designed to have students apply their learning from the text in other areas while also integrating technology into their responses. There are accommodations for each activity for struggling students as well.
The first attachment is the study guide, and the second attachment is the description of each activity.
